    Doug Laflin was born and raised in Summerville, S.C. He received his bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Russian Studies from College of Charleston and his law degree from the Charleston School of Law. During his tenure at the Charleston School of Law, he interned for a year with the Charleston Municipal Prosecutor’s Office and a year at the First Circuit Solicitor’s Office in Dorchester County. He also was Chief Justice of the school Supreme Court and on the Moot Court board. After school, he began practicing as a traveling closing attorney with a local firm before joining Weeks & Irvine in 2019.

    Doug is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association. He lives in Summerville with his wife and son. In his free time, he paints acrylics on canvas, makes chain mail and scale mail armor, studies history and world religions, grows a variety of extra hot chili peppers to make his own hot sauce and barbecue sauces, and enjoys barbecuing on his porch.
