Matthew Chalfant has lived full time in South Carolina since 2022. Born in Northeast Ohio, he received his bachelor’s degree in political science with minors in accounting and business from Walsh University. He then received his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law. Immediately after law school, Matthew completed a year long judicial clerkship to The Honorable Deadra L. Jefferson, South Carolina Circuit Court. He then joined a local law firm, Clarkson, Walsh, and Coulter, where his practice focused on civil litigation/insurance defense. Ultimately, Matthew decided to leave litigation and pursue the practice of real estate law, joining Weeks and Irvine in 2025. His practice now focuses exclusively on real estate transactions.  

Matthew is a member of the South Carolina and Charleston County Bar Associations. In his free time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading, playing the piano, and relaxing at the beach.
